Can you really be kind to the person who pisses you off, makes you feel really disgusted with his behavior? The answer is yes, though it is not easy.
The whole philosophy behind spreading kindness is not just to reach out and help the less fortunate. It is about cultivating positive energy and seeking inner peace. Holding onto anger, hate and hurt only weighs one down and breeds more negative energy, resulting in resentment, crticism and a revengeful mind.
When I fall back on my guiding principles to give love and kindness, to deal with things in a more positive manner, I feel more at ease with myself and happier. I no longer feel so much anger and negatitivity inside me. Instead, I felt calm and peaceful.
I am more convinced that the way to heal this world is not to use negativity to fight negativity because it sucks everyone into a vicious cycle, with both sides bent on destroying each other. The only way is to use positive energy, generated through love and kindness, to diffuse all the suffering, hate and anger in this world.

An Act of Kindness for a Needy Uncle on the street
Saw this uncle on my way back, it was already close to 10 and he was still squatting by the side of road. Where people walked past him, he will say "thank you" to them. I decided that I should do something nice for him. I walked a short distance to buy 3 otah sticks (cost me only $1.20) and passed them to him. He was very grateful and thank me for this act of kindness, I felt happy to make him happy as well.
Simple gesture like this can really make someone's day, for the receiver as well as giver. It also encourages others to do likewise and to take care of one another, especially those in need, thus forming a more gracious and cohesive society

Act of Kindness on the Street
I was approached by someone (non-local) on the directions to the train station so I gave her the info, "you walk in this direction, you will cross 2 junctions, you will see a shopping center, walk through it, there's a underpass leading you to the station."
Her mum later commented this, "the people here are so warm and friendly". I felt happy hearing this because it is a compliment not just to me but everyone in our country!

Helping a Single Mum In Need
Dear Friends,
If you like these customizable hand-knitted items, do consider getting from our dear friend, Shyda. She is a single mum, with a 14 months old son, unemployed and trying to make ends meet by selling her crochet products, which includes brooches, hairclips, baby booties, beanies, headbands, bags, baby blankie. She is currently staying in a rental flat with her mum, who is working as a cleaner. She is in need of money to buy milk powder and clothes for her son, so do support her work if you can. I do admire her for not asking for any financial assistance directly but rather trying to earn it through her efforts and means.
If any friends are looking to give away preloved toddler clothing in good condition, do consider passing them to her as well. Thank you very much for your kindness !

2. EMPTY MAC makeup containers ( powders, lipsticks, mascaras, eyeliners, lipliners, concealers etc). Every 6 containers gets the team a lipstick. MAC lipsticks are highly sought after and could help increase their fund raising by quite a bit.
